This is by far the most readable introduction to GB theory I have ever come across. It does presume some knowledge of very basic syntax, but everything it covers from there on is explained very clearly. Granted, it was written in the late 80's, but this is all stuff you still ought to know! If only others could follow Lasnik and Uriagereka's lead...

"The Covenant of the Crown" was an excellant book. After reading it, I was left in awe that any person could write something so good on a science-fiction subject. It was the perfect combanation of wit, humor, suspence, and drama to keep nearly any reader hungry for more. I thank the author of this book for bringing such a terrific novel into our lives

This book is very easy.It teaches you everything you need to know.It is very simple unlike many of the others.I recomend this book to anybody.It is one of the best books in the world under this topic.

I used this work as the text for a class I took in college last semester. I have reread it 3 times since. As an english literature major, I enjoyed his unique combination of strong language, facts and other articles in order to state his case. I recommend this to anyone of any faith, or lack of faith as a way to rediscover the true meaning in their relationship with a higher power.

It's amazing that people can judge a book by reading excerpts on the net. Critical Theory and Science Fiction is not an easy read but CT never was or will be. You don't have to agree with the Marxist theories of Bloch and Adorno, Carl Freedman uses to make his various points, to appreciate his insights and the challenges he throws at the reader. That is what academics are supposed to do and not to wallow in old cliche's and easy answers. The "excursuses" (his term) into classic SF novels such as Stanislaw Lem's SOLARIS, Ursula Le Guin's THE DISPOSSESSED, Joanna Russ' THE TWO OF THEM, Samuel Delany's STARS IN MY POCKET LIKE GRAINS OF SANDS and the greatest SF writer, Philip K Dick's THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE are lessons every SF reader and writer should make their own. At least Freedman is raising the level of SF discourse beyond Star Trek Convensions or Star Wars hype.

I had sustained a very traumatic incident in the dental chair and subsequently developed a phobia, "white-coat phobia" of all dental and medical procedures and staff. I was also experiencing random and crippling panic attacks. I was filled with fear and depression surrounding these issues though I had to undergo a series of medical and dental procedures. I was completely unable to go to my appointments. I could not even bring myself to phone a dental office. I was in danger of losing teeth, yet I still could not make myself go. I searched for something on the net and found this book. Thank God. Though I am still fearful, I dutifully perform the exercises and I am much, much better. Just went through a dental procedure 2 days ago and I am all right. I was able to stay in the chair and not leave. We can change the messages in our subconscious if we apply ourselves and do the work. Funny how many people can watch hours of TV but they won't commit to an hour or less a day at something that could very well change their life. This doctor has helped me tremendously! I hope more people become proactive and really help themselves rather than just resignedly stay in their fear and helplessness. Thank you Dr. Liebgold!

Un excelente libro, muy actualizado. contiene buena informacion de la medicina basica y aplicada de los bovinos, cerdos, cabras,ovejas, etc. Tiene un enfoque diagnostico y terapeutico apropiado, ademas sus figuras y cuadros son explicitos y faciles de entender. deberia tratar con mas profundidad el tema de la medicina preventiva en los bovinos. de todas maneras es un buen libro.
